DownPayment Desk is free to use without an account.
Visit counts
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and measure how fast pages load. It is cookieless and collects no personal data: it does not set cookies, use local storage or fingerprint your device. Our own analytics are aggregate and anonymous only.
Google AdSense
Our pages load Google's AdSense script. We do not place our own advertising cookies, but Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies as described in Google's policy on how it uses information from sites that use its services (policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites). You can turn off personalized ads from Google at adssettings.google.com and block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Calculators and the savings tracker
Calculator inputs and your savings tracker are kept in your browser (local storage). If you are not signed in they are never sent to us. If you sign in, your tracker is saved to your account, encrypted.
Services your browser talks to
Some pages load live prices directly from public services (gold-api.com, CoinGecko). If you use your location on the homes page, BigDataCloud turns your approximate position into a ZIP code. If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address goes to Kit (ConvertKit), which sends it; every email has an unsubscribe link.
Partner links
Some links to partner sites go through a short /go/ address on this site. When you click one, we add 1 to a counter for that partner and that day. We store no cookies, no IP address and nothing else about you for these clicks; we see only total clicks per partner per day.
Some pages also include Amazon Associates text links. Those go straight to Amazon with our associate tag. When you follow one, Amazon may use cookies or similar technologies under Amazon's privacy notice. We do not send Amazon any other personal data from this site. See our disclosure page.
Accounts (optional)
If you sign in we store: your email address (private, never shown), the sign-in methods you used, your public handle and optional bio, the date you joined and, while you are signed in, an encrypted copy of your savings tracker (so it follows you to other devices). Sign-in uses Google (we receive your verified email; there are no passwords) or a one-time link emailed through Resend. The email form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile. Account data is stored with Cloudflare (Workers KV). Sessions use one secure, HTTP-only first-party cookie.
You can download your data or delete your account at any time on the account page; deletion removes your account, sessions and saved tracker immediately. Your old handle is held back for a while so nobody can impersonate you.
Data retention
We delete subscriber and account personal data within 30 days after you unsubscribe or delete your account.
